With the whirling process, helical profiles can be processed very efficiently. In this process, an eccentrically positioned whirling ring rotates around the slowly rotating work piece - in most cases without the use of a coolant. This has the advantage that because of the specific way of cutting the majority of the cutting heat is discarded with the chipa rather than heating up the workpiece. Further benefits: The whirling is designed so that optimal results can be achieved with low energy consumption for the machining. In addition, the workpiece surface does not undergo any changes due to compressive stress. It is possible to achieve a very high level of surface quality.

LWN 65

The outer whirling machine LWN 65 is specially designed for the production of work pieces with large numbers of pieces. The high durability of the tool as well as the short tool change time provide maximum machine availability. The machine can be equipped with an integrated, work piece-specific, automatic loading and unloading device.

LWN 100

The LWN 100 whirling machine is able to reliably process EPS screws with a module from 0.8 to 3 and a swivelling angle of up to 42 degrees twice as quickly as other production processes. This is possible for the usual diameter of 14 to 30 mm and a length up to 220 mm.

LWN 120

The external whirling machine LWN 120 can be used universally and fulfills even the highest demands. Thanks to a torque motor, the machine is designed for high-speed cutting (up to 10,000 1/min). Together with its high machine rigidity, these are the ideal conditions for economical use in finish hard machining. The wide swiveling angle (±50°) makes it possible to finish almost all thread profiles and screws.

LWN 120 IW

LWN 160 HP

The LWN 160 HP (High Precision) hard whirling machine is ideal for producing lead screws. It is suitable for external machining up to 6,000 mm in length and increases productivity by a factor of 3 compared to modern grinding machines, without compromising machining quality. Very convincing is the fact that the pitch accuracy of five-start threads is only 1 μm, the dimensional accuracy in the cylindricity of the thread diameter is better than 3μm, and the roughness depth Ra achieved in the hard whirling process is less than 0.2 μm.
